📋 About Oxoke

Oxoke Thumbnail & Image Downloader is a Chrome Extension developed and maintained by Oxoke (shop.oxoke.com). It allows users to download YouTube thumbnails at original quality, save any web image in JPG, PNG, or WEBP format, and activate Picture-in-Picture for any video.

🚫 Data We Do NOT Collect

Oxoke collects none of the following — ever:

Personal information (name, email, IP address, location)
Browsing history, visited URLs, or search queries
Images you download or URLs you process
Device identifiers, OS details, or hardware info
Crash reports, usage analytics, or performance metrics
Cookies or any persistent tracking identifiers

⚙️ How the Extension Works

Thumbnail detection: Reads the tab URL, constructs known CDN patterns (e.g. img.youtube.com), fetches the image directly. No relay through Oxoke servers.
Image downloading: Your browser fetches images directly from their source. Oxoke acts as a local bridge to Chrome's download API.
Format conversion: All JPG/PNG/WEBP conversion is done client-side via the HTML5 Canvas API. Nothing leaves your device.
Page scanning: Reads DOM elements in the current page to find image URLs. Data stays in memory and is discarded when the popup closes.
Picture-in-Picture: Uses the browser's built-in requestPictureInPicture() API. No data is sent anywhere.
Settings storage: Preferences (theme, default format) are stored via chrome.storage.sync, managed entirely by Google/Chrome. Oxoke cannot read this data independently.

🔑 Permissions Justification

Permission	Why It's Needed
activeTab	Access the URL and content of the current tab to detect video pages. Only activates when you click the extension icon.
scripting	Inject content scripts to scan page images and trigger downloads.
downloads	Use Chrome's download API to save files — especially needed as a fallback when CORS blocks direct fetch.
contextMenus	Add right-click options to download images in different formats.
storage	Save your preferences (theme, format) via chrome.storage.sync.
clipboardWrite	Copy image URLs to your clipboard when you click "Copy URL".
host_permissions (:///*)	Fetch images from any domain for format conversion. No browsing data is transmitted.

🌐 Third-Party Services

When downloading a YouTube thumbnail, your browser makes a direct HTTP request to img.youtube.com (Google's CDN) — identical to loading any image in your browser. Oxoke does not intercept, log, or modify this request.

Oxoke has no integration with any analytics platforms, ad networks, crash reporters, or any third-party data processors whatsoever.

👶 Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13. Since we collect no data from any users, this policy applies universally regardless of age.

🔄 Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the "Last updated" date will change and, for significant changes, users will be notified via the Chrome Web Store listing. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
